What is wave motion & what are the requirements for its propogation

Wave motion can be defined as an oscillatory disturbance which travels through a medium due to repeated periodic oscillations of the particle of the medium about their mean position and which transfers energy through the medium without any transfer of matter.

For the propagation of wave through a medium, the necessary requirement is,

A. The medium should be elastic.

B. The medium should poses inertia.

C. The frictional resistance of the medium should be very small.
