Renowned Physics personality Dr Harish Chandra Verma today recieved Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award by the Honorable President of India Shri Ramnath Kovind. Prior to this award he has received Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Siksha Puruskar in the year 2017.
He is a physics educator and researcher, who is famous for his two-volume book "Concepts of Physics" which has revolutionized Physics education at school and college level .
Regarding his early days as per the data available on internet we know that, he was born on 8 April 1952 at Darbhanga, Bihar, India. His father was a teacher in Samastipur. After his high school, he went to Patna Science College and completed his B.Sc degree. Later he went to Indian Institute of Technology (IIT),Kanpur and completed his M.Sc & Ph.D .
He is not just a ordinary Physics teacher but he himself is a brand . There are many incidents to narrate but this is very common which I hope everyone have experienced.
He is so popular that students visiting book shops says,
2 HC Verma dena ... ( Give 2 copies of HC Verma)
In reality they are asking,
2 "Concept Of Physics" ki book dena ( Give us 2 copies of Concept of Physics)
Salute to such brilliant teachers who have worked very hard to make the subject reach to the weakest student of the society 🙏
