A monkey climbs a 60 m high pole. In the first minute, he climbs 6 m and slips down 3 m in the next minute. What time is required for it to reach the top?

 From the given conditions we find that ,

In the first minute the monkey climbs 6 meters and

In the second minute it slips 3 meters so the resultant is that the monkey gets 3- meters higher from its point in 2 minutes

i.e. it climbs 3m in every 2 minutes.

Thus in 36 minutes the monkey will climbs 36x2= 54 m

For the remaining 6 m it will take only 1 minute

So total time to climb 60 m is 37minutes
