What is the difference between flag-hoisting & flag-unfurling?

On Independence Day
the national flag🇮🇳 is tied at the bottom of the pole, and then it is pulled up, symbolizing the struggle for independence and to mark the Independence of the country, the national flag🇮🇳 is hoisted (झण्डारोहण)

While on 26th January India became an independent republic representing free from the clutches of years of British occupation and hence UNFURLED

Whereas, on Republic Day,
the national flag🇮🇳 is tied up on the top of the pole and it is unfurled (झण्डा फहराना) representing free from the clutches of years of British occupation. It is done to depict that the nation is already independent.

Happy Republic Day
