BJT

• It is a current controlled device.
• lnput resistance is low because input junction is forward biased.
• Operation is due to two carriers hence it is noisy.
• Flow of current is bipolar.
• Relatively bigger in construction.

FET

• It is a voltage controlled device.
• Input resistance is very high because input junction is reverse biased.
• Operations is unipolar hence it is less noisy.
• Flow of current is unipolar.
• Relatively smaller in construction hence useful for ICs
